The Oaks Academy earns the highest ISTEP scores in IndianaC&T Design would like to congratulate The Oaks Academy on earning the highest ISTEP scores in the state! The Indy Star recently published an article detailing the scores and the school. Read about what makes The Oaks Academy so special!

C&T Design sponsors The Good Manners Luncheon for 2nd and 6th graders at The Oaks Academy each spring. The conversations are endlessly entertaining and insightful. It is a favorite day of the year for the C&T employees lucky enough to attend. If these kids are our future, we can all take a deep breath and relax.

We could not be more proud of and excited for the students and faculty at The Oaks Academy. Keep up the amazing work.

Union 50 Named On OpenTable's Hottest Restaurant List

OpenTable, an online reservation service, recently published the list of #OpenTable100 Hottest Restaurants in America, and Union 50 made the list again! OpenTable determines "the list of honorees after analyzing more than five million reviews of more than 20,000 restaurants across the country."  Union 50 was the only restaurant in Indiana to be honored.

Union 50 is in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana just off Mass Avenue at 620 N. East Street. Check it out! See what all the fuss is about.

Union 50 is one of Cunningham Restaurant Group's (CRG) many concepts. Scott Ellerhorst, out of the C&T Design Cincinnati office, works with CRG on their concepts' foodservice design layouts, equipment specification and project management.

Blind Owl Brewery

Blind Owl Brewery is now open and serving mighty fine beer and food off Binford Blvd. & 62nd St. in Indianapolis, IN. Stop in and try Blind Owl's brews for football season! Their outdoor area is one of the best in town complete with bocce ball, cornhole and a garden.

Blind Owl's beers will only be available to drink at Blind Owl as well as a few of R.P. Lux's other restaurants around the Indianapolis area (e.g. The Elbow Room, Broad Ripple Tavern, Nickel Plate, Binkley's and The Meridian).

C&T Design Indy's Larry Simonel and Deven Kaufman partnered with Blind Owl on this project.

The reality for restauranteurs, particularly people new to the business, is that financing can be difficult to come by. We have compiled a list of companies some of our customers have used and the names of contacts within those organizations that will do their best to help you get the financing you need.

Pie Five Named a Top Mover & Shaker

Pie Five Pizza, a chain based out of Dallas, Texas, was started five years ago by the same folks who started Pizza Inn. C&T Design Branch Manager Mark Mattevi has been working with them since their inception. They have been routinely - and rightly so! - acknowledged by various industry publications and organizations for their innovation and subsequent booming success. Their unique concept, hardwork and good food has provided them with the ability to create demand for their product while rapidly expanding at a sustainable rate.

Their most recent nod came from FastCasual.com, a website dedicated to exactly the type of foodservice establishments you would imagine as indicated by the website's name. Pive Five Pizza was number 3 on their list of the 2015 Top 100 Movers & Shakers! This is a move up ten spots from last year when they came in at number 13, and up from slot 40 the year before that! These are incredible jumps in a very short amount of time.

A huge congratulations to Pie Five Pizza!! We are so proud to be a partner.

Deven Kaufman Named SEFA's May Featured Pro

A huge congratulations goes out to Deven Kaufman of the C&T Design Indianapolis office! It was announced on May 1st that he had been nominated and selected as the SEFA Featured Pro for the month of May. As explained by SEFA, a Featured SEFAPro is someone who has been nominated by principals, suppliers, and/or SEFA for their professionalism, representation of their company, relationships established, leadership, product knowledge, sales skills, and advancement in the SEFAPro training program.

Deven has been with C&T Design for five years, spending most of that time in project management under the tutelage of Chris Monico, a great mentor with more than 15 years of experience in the foodservice industry.
