For this bid project, project management included overseeing the walk-ins, the remote refrigeration, and the supply of the hoods. A unique feature of this assisted living project was the remote refrigeration. For energy efficiency purposes, there were nearly 20 pieces of food service equipment that were connected to the refrigeration rack system, in lieu of each piece having its own compressor. The system had to be placed on the building roof by crane. The pieces connected included drawers in chef’s counters, display cases, walk-ins, and reach-ins.
