In this continued partnership with IMS and Aramark, C&T was engaged for a second year to complete renovations on multiple concession stands throughout the campus. On this project, the existing equipment was completely gutted, and all new equipment was put in place; the first renovations since the early 2000s. Installed items included commercial hot side equipment, refrigeration, food prep stations, and food storage areas.
One of the aspects that made this project so unique was the May 1st deadline—opening of the season. Founded in 1909, the IMS hosts the largest single-day sporting event in the world yearly on Memorial Day Weekend. Along with hosting the NASCAR's Brickyard 400 and the IMSA endurance race, the Speedway hosts +150 track days a year. Completing this project in time meant the difference in experience for thousands of fans whose family traditions include attending the open weekend each year!
